What is the Life in the UK Test?

The Life in the UK Test is a compulsory step for most people applying for British citizenship or indefinite leave to remain (settlement). It is a computer-based test of 24 questions taken in 45 minutes; the pass mark is 75% — at least 18 correct answers. Every question comes from the official handbook, Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents, covering British values, history, traditions and everyday life. The test fee is £50, paid again for every retake, and it can only be booked on GOV.UK. UK Ready covers all the topics of the handbook across 23 structured lessons and trains you with 770 original questions in the same formats as the real test — so you sit it once, and pass.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real test questions?

No — real test questions are Crown copyright and are never published; be wary of any app that claims to have them. UK Ready's 770 questions are original, exam-style questions covering exactly the topics of the official handbook, Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents.

How do I book the real test?

Only on the official GOV.UK site: at least 3 days ahead, fee £50. The "Official test facts" card in the app links to the right page.

Is there a refund?

Yes — Premium comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. Email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and we refund you in full, no questions asked.

Do I need to cancel a subscription?

No — there is no subscription. You pay once and Premium stays yours, including future questions and features.

My English is weak — is this for me?

It was designed exactly for you. Learn the topics in your own language, use translations while you need them, and let the app move you gradually to exam-only English. Your analysis even tracks how your dependence on translations is falling.

Where is my data stored?
